Out of the box pet loving female housemate sought:

In short: A small single room centrally located in Camden/Kings Cross for £433 per calendar month (£100 a week) with all bills and even veggie FOOD included in return for dog walking my two little mischief makers twice a day (with days off of course!) and some occasional extra help with the house ;)

I'm looking for a lovely person to join my household. I have an unusual set-up here, sort of a 'sharing economy' you scratch my back I scratch yours. It's not for everyone so please read carefully :) Cheap rent and food £433pcm in return for helping me run the household.

My house: I share it with my pets - 2 cats and 2 small dogs and my current housemate (Plus my partner whenever she gets to visit from working abroad). I have two other rooms and a lounge, these are 'let out' to air bnb guests. For my guests, my housemate and myself I cook all the food: breakfast and dinner. Me and my housemate also have the same dinner as lunch the next day. I teach people to cook healthy food for a living so this is easy for me, just takes careful planning. I also keep the house clean, I deep clean once a week including mopping and hoovering your room. You help me with the dishes.
This set-up, taking air bnb guests works for me as it allows me to pursue and grow my little business.

Transport: We are walking distance to Camden Town (13mins/ 274 bus 5mins), Kings Cross (15mins/ 390 8mins), Caledonian Road (13 mins/ 274 bus 5mins) stations. We are also 7 mins walk from Camden Road Overground. And the 29 and 253 bus stops are also 8mins walk from here. Super well placed. And if you are a cyclist like me there is space to keep your bicycle.

Now the room itself is small, but is super well equipped! It has a wardrobe (I have extra space in the house that you can use), a big chest of drawers, a table, a bookcase, and the bed is a raised bed, like a bunk bed (with the table below the bed). It is not suited for someone who is tall due to height restrictions between the bed and the ceiling and the chair and the ceiling. My current housemate easily sits up in bed as she is about 5ft2" (see the pictures). Basically you don't notice it if you are short.

What I'm looking for from you is this: Help with the pets, mostly the dogs. And mostly dog walking. Which is why bartering with the food works well, I have to cook anyways so time saved on cooking for you goes to walking the dogs. On top of this: occasionally help check-in/out a guest if I am busy teaching. If you are somebody who loves dogs as well as walking/running then this is perfect for you. But please don't try and fit yourself into this mould just to save money as it can quite easily wear off. I walk my dogs every day, two times a day because I am a responsible pet owner. It's not a chore for me, it's a fact (I have an old knee injury so unfortunately I can't run with them, except for light jogging, if you can run, they love it and it wears them out extra fast!!). 3 out of my 4 pets are rescues. I chose to live this way. And lately I am becoming busier and this is where I need help. If walking them were to be seen as laboursome for you then please don't apply to be our new housie. This something you can do before work/study and then again in the evening/afternoon. (Occasionally I may ask you to look after them if I have to travel outside of London for work, but it will be well planned - extra help organised if needed and there will be no other guests in the house apart from repeat bookers.)

You also have to be sociable, as we welcome guests constantly being reasonably priced and centrally located. This too is not a chore for me, I am a natural helpful person who values this arrangement. I do not take my guests (or my housemate) for granted. And because of this our reviews are above excellent, we made 'superhost' status. I treat everybody with the same human kindness. If you are unsociable or shy then this is not for you. You hardly notice they are hear, the house is so quiet. The book to see London or because of work/research, not to stay in the house and they book our house because it is quiet. Plus they are pet lovers.

As mentioned I cook the food: the house is low-fat, low-GI and plant-based. So that is what I cook. It is food that gives you energy and that feel good factor. It's very varied. I buy most of the groceries, sometimes I'll ask you pick up things on your way home (I'd give you the cash) depending on what your routine is like, I get most delivered and from the wholesalers across the road. This arrangement saves us all money as we are eating the same and keeps our diets varied. It also wastes less on energy as there is less packaging and so is kind to the environment. Now, you don't have to be a vegan/vegetarian/plant-based but when you are in the house this is what we eat. I'm not militant on this. And ours is a weird house, I cook meat for the pets and veggies for the humans. If you want to learn to cook I will teach you and if you occasionally want to do the cooking you can do. And if you want to cook side by side you are more than welcome to :)

My house runs well as I am organised. I will never spring something on you last minute. It means too that you have to be well planned/organised. This won't suit you if you don't know your shifts in advance. There are lots of other lovely places on here. You can be working full-time like my housemate, studying full-time, 9-5, etc.. because as long as you can walk the dogs twice a day it doesn't matter. This is suited for somebody who has a flexible attitude, open to spotting opportunities, who would see the money saved on rent and the time saved on cooking as an opportunity to leave cheaply and use that time wisely whilst also looking after the dogs :) As long as between the two of us they get their two walks a day they are happy. I love my dogs so I will still want to walk them too but you would be doing most of these walks.

As mentioned they are rescues, as such one of them has problems, not his fault - he was a stray wherever he came from they used to beat him. I would like to up his training and as such we would do training days together in the parks near by. I have a spare bicycle so we can use that to get to the park with me to save time. If you aren't a cyclist I can help build up your confidence, my partner helped me and I now help others.

We also have the lounge, when we do not have a guest sleeping there it is accessible all the time. We do not have a TV. When we do have a guest there, it is communal access between 7. 30am and 9. 30pm. As business picks up I will see if I can afford not to have a guest in there. For now it makes sense as most people are out during the day so why not use the space.

We also have two small gardens. The kitchen. A bathroom with WC. And another WC. It is a small but big house.

We are a quiet home, you will never hear loud music. I have talk radio on in the kitchen most of the time. This is a non smoking home. And drugs will not be tolerated in my home! I have watched too many people have their lives ruined by them.

I rarely have guests over, only close friends pop in other than business meetings. We do not bring strangers home. And when I do have guests it's for dinner or lunch and you are always welcome to join us. It is a busy house but you would never know it but bearing that in mind it also means that on your side, having guests over would have to be seldom/organised. But of course if you have friends or family visiting from out of town, as long as we plan it, we can book them (free of charge) into the lounge :)

The cats are indoor cats, so you have to make sure not to accidentally let them out - this is because one of them is a rescue and doesn't like the outside world to come inside. She too was a found as a stray.

Now, this house is not suited to a procrastinator as you will find yourself out of place here, the energies in this house are too strong and you will feel left out. You have to have a purpose, a goal you are working on/towards, a passion. And that the reason you are coming into this set-up is because it is helping you achieve that :)

I have written an essay here but with good reason. As if you have read this far, you are interested. So drop me a message and tell me about you. I have until the 12th of April to find the right person, I'm not in a rush and neither are you. My current housemate who has been a part of this sharing economy is moving back to her home country as she will be retraining. Living here helped her pursue her purpose and find her path :) and now she is ready to move on. We are going to miss her. I am in contact with most people who have lived here. They have become friends.

The minimum term here is 6months, the maximum can be for as long as you need it to be.

As we have a lot of time till the 12 of April, I will invite you after an intial meeting to come and stay with us over a weekend in the lounge to see if this is for you :) and for us.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Namaste,
Farrah

I may not reply to you for a couple of days but don't worry, I will.

And it goes without saying that this is a Gay friendly/Straight friendly/Whatever friendly house. Discrimination of any sort will not be tolerated in this house! Human Kindness, this is what we practice.
