I have a *small* spare single bedroom with a small *double* bed in my *small* Deptford flat, suitable for a short term lodger let in the first instance, say 1 week to 6 weeks. Ideal if you are in-between buying/selling a place, touring for work, exploring London, working short-term or just buying some time before finding a more permanent place. Theoretically, there might be a possibility of making the flatshare longer term.
Bedroom has a compact double bed (1. 2m wide John Lewis mattress), lamp, desk, chair, bedlinen, heater, various storage space and is in a furnished first floor flat on a busy road; wool carpets, widescreen HD TV, DVD, Freeview, fast wireless Internet (51Mbs down/8Mbs up), no telephone, Apple AirPlay in all rooms (music while you wash, or in my case, Radio4), Washer/Dryer, Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Electric Ceramic Hob Cooker (oven is great, hob is rubbish), bath with a decent shower, and entry phone.

Excellent transport - roll out of bed for buses and the DLR:
DLR: 1 minute walk to Deptford Bridge, 12 minutes to Canary Wharf and 23 minutes to Bank
Buses: 24hr buses to New Cross/Elephant/Waterloo/Trafal gar Sq/Oxford St/Marylebone (53 and 453) and Surrey Quays/Bermondsey/London Bridge/Liverpool St (47)
Rail: Deptford/New Cross/St Johns/Greenwich all within 5 minutes walk. London Bridge 18mins; Cannon Street 22mins; Waterloo East/Charing X is longer at 40 mins because of longterm rail restructuring.
Good shopping: Very late night shop, Deptford Market, Asda, Co-Op and two small local Tesco all within two minutes, Greenwich (Waitrose/Sainsbury/Co-Op/M&S) and Lewisham (large Tesco/M&S). Aldi and Lidl (both recommended) up the Old Kent Road.
The area is diverse (English, African, Vietnamese, student, commuter, artist and other communities) and possibly described as urban mixed, whatever that is. I would also say it is a safe and happy area - just remember, if you're an estate agent, Deptford has been up and coming since the 15th century ;)
Historic Greenwich is close by, as is Blackheath. Canary Wharf is a short train ride away. Deptford Market is also near, as well as Goldsmiths College, University of Greenwich, Lewisham Hospital, Trinity Music College and Laban Conservatoire.

** Who am I? ** Someone with a spare room! I'm relatively quiet, relaxed, interested in most things except watching sport on TV... I'm very much less of a Facebook/selfie type person, and more into, well, things like culture, history, psychology, philosophy, politics, art, computers, documentaries on TV, Gogglebox and 24hrs in A&E... to be honest I can find interest in most things... I have had a long standing engagement with light, both scientific and artistic... and I also used to teach english (CELTA) and worked in theatre. I tend to cook from scratch (on the healthy side), and a major high point of my day is the mug of coffee I make from ground beans grown on some remote hillside on the other side of the globe :)

** Who is ideal? **
A relaxed chilled out straight up decent person, preferably working (flat is small and I am here quite a bit), who needs somewhere to stay short term. Preferably not a clean freak, nor a slob, just a regular person.
I'm male/female and LGBT friendly, and happy to make small changes to accommodate, like banishing the bacon if you have religious commitments.
26+ years old preferred, just because we'll probably have more in common. I'm also happy to keep myself to myself, but the occasional chat and cup of tea doesn't go amiss.

OK, I know it shouldn't really be necessary but here is the 'No's' bit:
No shoes worn in the flat
No smoking (except outside.. and if it's been a really really bad week then hanging out under the bathroom extractor fan is negotiable!) It has been known :)

On the money side a £400 cash deposit and a £125 weekly payment by cash or bank transfer in advance. Rent covers electricity, heating, water, internet, TV license and council tax... and toilet paper :) ... you get the drift, no unexpected extras.

I like my flat ... I hope you do too. Moving in with a stranger is always a bit off-putting to begin with, so a large mug of tea and a chat is always a good start.
**Send a message telling me about yourself and your situation, or a SpareRoom profile link, telling me how you think you fit in with what I've written** (did you notice the little stars? :), and we can arrange a mutually convenient time to meet up. Look forward to meeting you ... cheers.
