Bright sunny room overlooking garden

Our housemate has moved out and we're looking for someone (or possibly a couple) to replace her.

The house is about half a mile from Grove Park Station, or there are direct buses from a stop 30secs away to Grove Park (3/4 mins) or to Mottingham (6/7 mins). Trains go to Lewisham, New Cross, London Bridge, Cannon St, Waterloo East and Charing Cross, and they're all very quick (only 13mins to London Bridge).

It is easily a double-sized room - however, we got the house unfurnished and the current housemate took her bed with her when she moved her stuff out. But we can get hold of a single bed for free if needed, even if it's just temporarily until you sort yourself out with a double. The bonus is that the room comes with a massive fitted wardrobe with full-length mirrors :)

We've more or less furnished the rest of the house so there's no need to worry about that (although there's space for extra furniture if you have some). It's a bright, warm house with lots of room - there's a kitchen/dining room that opens onto the garden, and a separate living room.

The second bedroom belongs to me and my partner, Chris, and we use the third bedroom as our practice room (we pay for both). We're both professional freelance musicians - I play the double bass and he plays the tuba. The amount we practise varies according to what we need to prepare for and how much time we have, but it's never going to be much more than 4 hours a day between us at our absolute quietest times work-wise (so very rarely), and we do a lot during working hours if we can. On the plus side, we can often get hold of free tickets to lots of amazing concerts ranging from classical to jazz/funk/blues.

We are a couple but definitely not "coupley" if that makes sense - we've lived with one or two flatmates for most of our relationship and it's always been a great atmosphere. We don't do massive PDAs in the kitchen and are very happy for others to join us for dinner or on the sofa for a film. Our work means that it's most often just one of us at home, so it's nice to have a housemate to hang out with then if they want!

We're very laid-back, get on with most people, and we do make an effort to keep the house in shape and a nice place for us all to live. We really want to be here long-term so DIY projects are welcome, and we're in the process of planting lots of tasty fruit and veg in the garden :) This is going to be our first summer here, so really looking forward to having a few bbqs!

I've ticked pets, but we only have a little elderly hamster called Pancake. We like animals (the current housemate also had a cat and a snake), so extra pets are always welcome!

Smokers are fine, but we'd ask that you smoke outside if that's ok.

One massive advantage here is that it's a private landlord (rather than an agency), and he's absolutely lovely, as are the neighbours.

We don't really have any criteria for potential housemates - just someone who's laid-back and easy to get on with. Chris lived in the States for much of his life and I speak French and Spanish and some Russian, so other nationalities very welcome!
