Beautiful Double in Converted Schoolhouse
Double room available in a beautiful maisonette apartment set within a converted schoolhouse in a gated community, very near to London Bridge.
My wonderful flatmate is sadly moving out of London on the 4th October, so to stay here for at least another year, I am looking for a shiny new friend to share with.
The (somewhat girly) apartment features:
- 2 double bedrooms
- 1 bathroom (shared but pretty, with a good sized bath)
- Large living room (2x 2 person sofas, tv with freeview, lamps, throws & cushions)
- Dining area (extendable table for dinner parties of up to 8)
- Huge kitchen (dishwasher, cooker, washing machine)
- Landing with shoe & coat cupboard
- Under stairs cupboard
- Period feature windows (currently being repaired hence there being scaffolding outside this month - this will be gone soon)
- Ample parking in our gated car park + visitor parking which is always handy)
- Access to the beautiful schoolhouse garden - where we have communal BBQs, get togethers, can grow veg & herbs and sit and hang out amongst the flowers with Benson the neighbour's cat.
- A caretaker (Charlie) who helps us with anything that goes wrong, receives packages and maintains the lift, halls, stairways & gardens
The room itself features:
- A comfy double bed
- High ceilings
- Several shelves for storage
- Hanging hooks for photos/ pictures
- A large mirrored wardrobe
- Extra storage via a chest of drawers on the landing
Local area information:
- We're in the heart of Zone 1 at the bottom of Page's Walk, a street where the townhouses have different coloured doors and shutters - very cute!
- There's a lovely little pub on the corner where Pat McKenna can serve you a G&T after a long day
- 2 minutes walk from Bermondsey Street (loads of coffee shops, amazing restaurants)
- 2 minutes walk from Sainsbury's local
- 2 minutes drive (10 minute walk) to a Tesco Extra, Lidl & Asda
- 5 minutes walk from Maltby Market
- 10 minutes walk from Borough Market
- 10 minutes walk to Tower Bridge
- 15 minutes walk to London Bridge (Jubilee Line, Northern Line)
- 15 minutes walk to the Shard
- 20 minutes bus or cycle to Shoreditch (42, 78)
- 30 minutes bus to Oxford Circus
Rent information:
- Rent is £190 per week.
- The security deposit is 6 weeks rent.
- As a new tenant you will need to be signed up, referenced and credit checked by the letting agents so you'll need to provide them with two references and 3 months bank statements. This costs a one off admin fee of £160.
Bills information:
Water is included in the rent but the following are payable monthly on top of the rent:
- High speed EE Broadband & Phone - free evening & weekend calls = £6 per month
- Council Tax = £60 per month
- Electric & Gas = bills come every three months and vary but to give you an idea the one we've just had = £60 each
- TV licence =£6 per month
Looking at my year's finances these total roughly £100 per month and I'll handle paying them/ changing names etc.
About me:
I'm a 26 year old professional female working in HR at a Shoreditch based creative tech start up. I have a busy job and an active social life and mainly I enjoy seeing friends, getting out in the fresh air, travelling (it's easy to get to Gatwick from London Bridge), reading, painting, going to markets, dancing, baking and generally chilling out.
As I'm approaching late 20's, and have a fair amount of responsibilities, I'm not a hard partier, but I do love life and really try and live it to the fullest. I'm really not into raving or dance music but I do like going to festivals & gigs (indie, electronica, reggae & acoustic) and have a ukulele that I sometimes play when no ones around :).
I'm looking for a cool, organised, positive and laid back girl who will enjoy living here as much as I do and will want to hang out and have a glass of wine some evenings. It's definitely a home, not just a house, and it would be great to share it with someone who's looking to make a friend as well as having a really great home in an awesome location. We have a real community spirit here and I feel very lucky to be part of it.
As I need to fill the room within the next couple of weeks (to account for paperwork time) please get in touch ASAP and l'll try to be as flexible as possible for viewings.
