Room with a double bed and shared lounge

Ad ref# 3380282

Question?
Would you pay £700 for a room in a house where you have no lounge, have one bathroom and eat dinner on your bed?

No? Good...then read on....

We are looking for a new flatmate to join us in what is fast becoming an unusual trend in London; - a house with actual living space - not one designed to cram as many people into as little space as possible.

We're ideally looking for someone who wants to be part of the house. We've got a great lounge with a TV that finally works and cost a lot more than our dodgy sofa. There's a free beer if you can guess the price.

There are two pubs 5 minutes away for when you need to drown your sorrows and If you're new in London, we're up for showing you around.

Equally, we know that sometimes you'd like to stay in your room all day or maybe chained to your desk at work (or maybe somewhere else), that's o. k. too.

We're not all about drinking, it's April after all and it's time to hit the Gym. We've got one a 5 minute walk away - yet even then our live-in-landlord thinks this is a step too far (or maybe 500 too far). He thinks going once or twice a year is about the norm. So if you think you can beat this, I'd like someone to prove him wrong.

Asda is a mere 15 minutes walk away - although we do often get the bus. If you're looking for a quick visit, a 5 minute walk takes you to Co-op, or for those who just got paid, a 'little' Waitrose where you can pay £1 for a banana.

If you think this is just too far and don't like walking, there is a great corner shop, about 25 steps away, that isn't actually on a corner, with a name that harks back to the days of the Yellow Pages.

If you need to get to London, Waterloo is about 30 minutes away by bus/train or longer if they decide.

Anyway, enough about the area, back to the house...

So your room is already furnished with a decent bed and mattress which does not weigh double it's original weight.

You get a wardrobe which is probably from the 1900s but is clean and is good for hanging stuff up in :)

You get a desk that resembles a table, because it is a table, plus a chair that actually fits under it and there's also a rug of questionable taste provided.

We've got a lounge decked out with a corner sofa that is now arranged in a straight line. Why? Plus a TV, lots of unopened DVDs, and a rather fetching pair of curtains that must have left the factory in the 1960s.

We've also got a kitchen, where you can cook, clean and make artisan coffee......if you so wish.

There's are two bathrooms so no orderly queue required.

There is a spare room that is available as well for people who need to stay over on an airbed.

To top it all off - we have a garden - with storage for bikes or whatever you need. For some reason, there is also a mirror in the garden - never found out why.

There is no minimum term - we know you'll like living here, but if you don't, we want you to be able to leave and not feel trapped.

There is no 'administration fee' or 'reference fee'. There is no 'agency fee'. There is no 'I will increase your rent after 3 months because I know you won't move on' fee.

Put simply, this house is meant to be a home for everybody that lives here.

The rooms are being rented by the landlord to pay the mortgage. He lives here too. Some landlords would be selling this as a 6 bedroom house, with 1 bathroom. He's not. Luckily, he's not a c.. t.

And no that isn't cat.

So, if you'd like to come round and see the room let us know. Remember, guess the price of the sofa and you win a beer!
