House Hunting Around South Kensington

I get free wine and Nandos...
I am a South African coming to London in mid September 2024 to start my Masters studies at Imperial College.
I'd love to find a place within 30-45 mins of South Kensington and enjoy living with other people.
I've previously lived with people from all over the place, both guys and girls, who can all attest to the quality of my spaghetti making. I enjoy a relaxed house where we can hang out / cook together if you want (I'm always up for a BBQ) while also appreciating the need for alone time, independence and some peace and quiet.
I'm not picky with the type / quality of accommodation, more about the location and the people there that make it a home. It would be great to have a little garden though...
