Double Bedroom available in Balham
Hey all, hope you’re all doing well!
We’ve got a ground-floor bedroom available from mid/end of May (will update once we have a move out date for the current tenant) in Balham, currently home to three guys and a furry diva 🐶 - We’re looking for someone to bring a fun vibe and become a part of our little familia 🏠
The room is on the ground floor, right between the living room and kitchen, with a small toilet under the stairs opposite the room.
The room comes furnished with a big wardrobe, chest of drawers, double bed, with some space for storage underneath (minus TV, table, desk, shelves, mirrors and rug in pics).
You’ll be sharing the first floor bathroom with one other person, but there are 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets in the house in total.
There are 5 bedrooms in total - one is a spare room for pals to stay over in and one is the landlord’s daughter who’s currently in Singapore for the foreseeable, who stays for a few weeks once or twice a year (but it’s so not weird as it sounds, we’ve all been good friends for years). We also have a nice little garden where we hang out when it’s warm & have BBQ’s (once we can figure out how to turn it on lols)
We have a good size kitchen and dining area where we like to cook and hang out, as well as a living room for us all to chill in. We like to take care of the house and chip in to keep everything nice to live in (a given with a white kitchen tbf) - it’s ideal if you’ve got a mon-fri, 9-5 job to align with ourselves.
Just a ten-minute walk from Balham station, Balham High Street and Clapham South tube, the house itself is in a lovely residential area (yummy mummy central basically but it’s chill lol). There's Sainsbury’s, Aldi & Waitrose and loads of nice restaurants and pubs/bars on the high street too. Balham station has rail + Northern line running, so it’s super accessible. You can get a parking permit for the street if you’ve got a car too.
Access info:
The room is on the ground floor of the house, with a small toilet opposite. The bathroom with a shower is up a flight of stairs, and there’s a little step to enter the kitchen so it's not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately.
Rent and Bills:
£850PCM
Bills (Council tax, water, electricity, gas, broadband and ADT alarm system) - usually come to £120 a month each, but thanks to a horrible gov this has been varied recently!
Deposit:
One month’s rent (£850).
Tenancy:
Ideally looking for something long-term, with a min of six months, but short-term lets also considered. Not the landlord (just a tenant), but she’s super responsive re house stuff (e. g replacing a washing machine within two days!) and super lovely!
Benefits + References:
Benefits + UC are accepted and no reference required 🙂
About us:
You’ll be living with myself (28 going on 29, marketing exec) Aaron (27, graphic designer) and Will (26, marketing) and our furry housemate Raya (4, lady of leisure - who’s a big girl but also genuinely a big softie who loves cuddles!!)
We’re all super chill, open-minded people who love to hang out and have a laugh, watch random shows and all that good stuff; really looking for someone to come in with their own vibes that just fits in nicely with the house tbh!
We all work hybrid splitting days at home and days in the office and there’s space to do so, if you do too!
Drop us a line if you have any Qs or wanna arrange a viewing - looking forward to meeting you! X
