Great value, decent sized room in awesome house
We're looking for a new housemate to join our welcoming household of hip, young urban professionals*
The house is really well situated in a peaceful neighbourhood, 10 minutes walk from Clapham South tube station on the northern line, and 15-20 minutes from Clapham Junction train station - there's also a very cute local bus that will take you to both, the G1.
There's no shortage of great bars and restaurant and several supermarkets within walking distance (10 minute walk to Northcote Road), as well as tennis courts, an outdoor gym and a bowling green just round the corner.
THE HOUSE
The house has five bedrooms split across three floors - the room that is becoming available is on the ground floor, towards the back half of the building. Until recently the house was two separate flats - and as a result has a slightly quirky layout (which adds to its charm!)
The ground floor also has a large living room, a large dining room that opens out onto the garden, a bathroom, and a utility room that contains a washer/dryer and another washing machine. The first floor has a dining kitchen, a bath/shower room and separate toilet, while the ground floor has a large living room. There are four other bedrooms, split between the first and second floors.
There's a decent sized cellar under the house for storing bikes/your carpentry workshop or what have you.
The back garden is a good size and we're hoping our majestic pear tree will deliver a bumper crop to rival last year's come autumn.
THE ROOM
The room is a medium sized double with plenty of storage space. Due to the layout of the house, the window is a bit higher than you'd expect - as a result we've set the rent lower than the two rooms directly above it, which are the same size. The room comes furnished but you would be welcome to bring your own things - the landlord can remove anything you don't want.
ABOUT US
You'll be sharing with five of us, aged from 24-31. Luke is English and then Elyse, Bianca, Kat and Karin are Ozzies.
We're all friendly people and have a good rapport. We have varying attitudes to health and fitness, but all enjoy cooking together, a good Netflix session, Sunday strolls, pub quizzes, board games etc Here's hoping for an early spring so we can get the BBQ back on in the garden!
YOU
We are looking for someone in their mid twenties to early thirties to replace current roomie Chris, who is soon moving into his own place.
If you're interested, include some details about yourself in your message - your hobbies, interests, signature dish, or anything you like really so we can get a sense of whether you'd be a good fit!
