Single/Small Double In Friendly House with Dog

Short term and Mon-Fri lets absolutely considered.

Looking to rent my spare room initially for 6 months, very likely longer as long as we get on well! Price PCM is inclusive of all bills and will be adjusted for any part-time let, also willing to negotiate for short-term lets.

Professionals only, ideally someone located in the office for at least part of the week, will be a lodger in my home as opposed to a tenant.

Street is free parking and a 15 minute walk from Thornton Heath station (trains to Victoria via Clapham Junction in 20mins) or a <10minute walk up the hill to catch a 5 min bus to Norwood Junction station which has regular trains that will get you into London Bridge in 11 minutes.

Now that's the boring stuff out of the way, hello! I'm Sophie and I bought my lovely house in Thornton Heath at the end of 2022. Whilst the house can certainly be considered a work in progress it is my haven so I'm looking for someone respectful, friendly, tidy and happy to live with myself and my delightful four legged child, Teddy.

The available room is a single/small-ish double with 2 built in wardrobes and a south east facing window overlooking the garden. At the moment there is a day bed in there which acts as a single bed or pulls out into a king. Room is bigger than it looks in photos, even when the bed is pulled into a king there is still room to walk down the side and open the wardrobe doors so plenty big enough for a double bed. Up to you whether you'd like to stick with the day bed or happy to store it away so you can use a bed of your choosing.
Room is used as my office at the moment but the desk will be removed, chest of drawers is optional. Very happy to discuss furnished/unfurnished options.

The rest of the house comprises of a large shared bathroom, kitchen with all mod cons including washing machine and dishwasher, dining room and separate living room as well as my lovely little sun trap garden. There's plenty of storage about the house too.

I work from home full time and I'm also a home body which means I'll be here for the vast majority of the time so I'm looking for someone friendly I could share a bottle of wine, a movie night, a dog walk, some dinner or a trip to the pub with. That said I also really love my own space so will not be in the least bit offended if you want to do your own thing. I do also at least once a month spend 5/6 consecutive days in Essex with my family.

I'm pretty tidy and like to keep the house clean but this is a home and not a show home and of course I have a dog so if you're expecting somewhere permanently immaculate I'm probably not for you! I do have a weekly cleaner who comes at the weekend and always leaves the place looking lovely, as long as your room is tidy and the floor clear when she comes she'll hoover, dust and clean the windows for you, this is included as part of bills. If you want to chip in for a little extra time she can also change your sheets, hang out laundry etc.

My dog, Teddy, is a 1 year old Cocker Spaniel. He is very friendly, gentle, fully house trained and would happily be cuddled all day. He does shed so he’s not hypoallergenic but he doesn’t shed excessively and I tend to hoover every couple of days so you won’t find much dog hair.
